2 New Tutorials

I was originaly going to post these 2 tuts and some icons of Miley Cyrus and Aly and Aj but I decided to wait on those until I make some icons of the Jonas Brothers.... ;-)

Anyway, here are two tutorials that I discovered while making the icons.

1) Take your image and crop to 100x100, sharpen, etc.

2) Add a new "Curves" layer, with the following settings:
               RBG- input= 134
                          output= 140
               RED- input= 105
                          output= 147
          GREEN- input= 165
                           output= 173
              BLUE- input= 134
                           output= 98

3) Add a new "Selective Color" layer, with the following settings:
              REDS= -100, 0, +100, 0
      YELLOWS= +100, 0, -100, 0
    NEUTRALS= +37, 0, -40, +20

4) Add another "Selective Color" layer, with the following settings:
              REDS= -100, 0 +100, 0

Other Icons with this coloring:

                    REDS= -99, +35, +100, 0
             YELLOWS= -100, -100, +100, 0
                 WHITES= +100, 0, 0, 0
            NEUTRALS= +5, -3, -41, 0

               RBG- input= 134
                          output= 140
               RED- input= 105
                          output= 147
          GREEN- input= 165
                           output= 173
              BLUE- input= 134
                           output= 98

4) Add a new "Selective Color" layer, with the following settings:
                    REDS= -100, 0, +100, 0
      YELLOWS= +100, 0, -100, 0
    NEUTRALS= +37, 0, -40, +20

That was really helpful. Glad you put it on here. But when I did mine I had to set the curves opacity to 44. But I think it still turned out fine.

Hi, I was looking at your tutorials, and I am having trouble getting the same effect. I must have missed something... Did you use blending options like Soft Light on the curves layer? (When I did that, it came out closer.)
As per the tutorial:

With soft light:

I just want to check because I am recommending some colorizing tutorials to a friend, and I want to send her ones that I understand. (And yours is awesome).

Hmmm, I think you may have entered the curves inputs and outputs wrong, because I just applied the curves layer to the picture again and got this (I didn't have it on soft ligt or anything):

Looking at yours I think the curves got messed up some how. You mignt want to double check the curves...I hope this helps out, let me know if you need any more help! :-)
